Serena Dang

Serena Dang is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for building innovative technology products that have the potential to push the frontier of well-being for the world’s aging population. Her current startup is focused on building the future of personalized caregiving for vulnerable populations.

As a caregiver to her grandmother who suffered from dementia, Serena has first hand experience of how backward and siloed the caregiving and senior living space is. The antiquity and fragmentation of the industry cause a tremendous amount of lost potential in care improvements but offer great opportunities in leveraging technology to bridge the gap.

Growing up in Asia and influenced by Confucius’s teaching of filial piety, she has developed strong compassion towards the elders and a sense of duty to care for them. Many research literature have shown that it takes just as much of a village to take care of the old as to raise the young, but the current dedication of resources for the wellbeing of our seniors is far from enough. Based in Silicon Valley, Serena is mobilizing the most advanced technology available, including Artificial Intelligence, to create a higher bar for caregiving standards, equip the care team with dynamic insights and powerful tools, and bring control and confidence into the caring ecosystem.

Graduated from the Hotel School at Cornell University, Serena has an unconventional path towards professional excellence. At a young age, she was promoted to Vice President at Asia’s top Investment Bank in the New York office, managing over $250 million of fixed income assets, while also heading up the North America chapter of SheLovesTech, the world’s largest organization advancing female founders of tech startups. She transitioned full time into entrepreneurship when a 2-billion-dollar hedge fund hired her away to help start a Venture Capital fund under its existing ecosystem. She served as advisors to early stage startups, sat on the board of nonprofit organizations, and volunteered her time to support local seniors.

Serena is an avid mountaineer and cyclist. In 2017 she fell in love with Denali, the tallest mountain in North America, and made a promise to herself that she would stand on top of it one day. After a failed attempt in 2021, she finally made it in 2023. Through this vision quest of hers, she climbed many beautiful tall peaks around the world, gained precious wisdom not just on climbing but also on living, and will continue to explore nature and life through the lens of a mountaineer.
