Sue Sundar

Dr. Sue Sundar (PhD, MBA, MA, BA – Honors) is an Associate Professor-Lecturer in the Department of Operations & Information Systems at the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah, where she is also the Director of the Operations and Supply Chain Program. Her research interests lie in Service Operations, particularly the area of Healthcare Operations and their application to managing complex and deadly illnesses. She has worked with leading healthcare organizations in Utah, researching the effects of implementing operations and supply chain principles in the healthcare arena while tracking care processes starting within the emergency departments and going through highly specialized intensive care settings. Dr. Sundar has also worked on understanding disaster preparedness and its impact on adverse outcomes following mass events such as flu pandemics. She has also been involved in a number of clinical research projects looking at healthcare outcomes within the Departments of Ophthalmology and Internal Medicine.

As the Director of the Operations Management Program, she oversees several Capstone projects with top US companies that have operations within Utah. Some of these student projects have resulted in significant operational impact for the involved companies. Dr. Sundar has won many awards for teaching that include the Quality Matters Star Award for DePaul Online Teaching.
