Martin Stallone

Dr. Martin Stallone is the  President and CEO of Cayuga Medical Center and Cayuga Health System. In 2009, Stallone found himself returning to Ithaca after searching for a job that would provide the opportunity to mix clinical and administrative experience led him to CMC. The hospital was searching for someone to fill the Hospitalist Director role, and Stallone was “blown away” by the hospital’s “very progressive program development and community relationship-building.” Additionally, he said he was impressed with opportunities for growth and upwards mobility afforded to CMC physicians; coincidentally, 10 years later he’s the hospital’s president and CEO. While he has now reached the top of the administrative ladder at CMC, Stallone does seem adamant that he wants to keep a clinical presence at the hospital. While granting the triteness of the sentiment, Stallone said the healing and caring aspects of medicine were the fuel that brought him to the field initially and have kept him engaged ever since.

Stallone holds degrees in molecular biology from Cornell University, an M.D. and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, along with a Master’s degree in national security from the National War College at National Defense University, located in Washington, D.C.
