Suzanne Simonetta

Suzanne Simonetta is the Director of the Division for Performance Management for the U.S. Department of Labor. Her responsibilities include developing and reviewing legislative proposals, overseeing policy analysis and development, and writing and promulgating regulations regarding job training, reemployment, trade, foreign labor, apprenticeship, and unemployment insurance programs. Currently, her work focuses on expansion of apprenticeship.

Previously, Ms. Simonetta was the Chief of Legislation in the Office of Unemployment Insurance. In that position, she worked on a variety of initiatives including the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and Emergency Unemployment Compensation. She completed her undergraduate studies with honors at Cornell University (double major: Government and Italian Studies) and her graduate studies at Syracuse University (Political Science).
